When the daily bustle repetitively sabotages the construction of a blog post a gal finally has to put her foot down, upload some pictures, do a word shuffle and see what unfolds. It seems as though the result is as sweetly rambunctious as the currently sidelined bustle has felt. Productively helter-skelter if you will.

It is, undoubtedly, one of my favorite times of the year. Relishing the lingering ripe sweetness of summer, mason jars a-linin’ up, second crops a-thrivin’ in the cooling dirt, warm days embraced by crisp beginnings and endings. All under the watchful gaze of subtly unfolding autumn, teeming with promise of rustic splendor and all things plaid, spiced and cozy.

Our slow and gentle unfolding of the new school year is now a fully-fledged bulk of force barreling through our days. Apparently, that’s what 5 weeks in does and though this wife-mom-teacher-lady occasionally feels like she’s on a crazy, iffy roller coaster, an excited show of hands and loves for learning reassure her that so far all is going well.

When the days… and our brains… are bursting at the seams God’s grace and solid meals make it all ok. And when it’s homegrown and / or homecooked it’s all comfort food. Whole foods, fresh pickings and the noticeable unfolding of beloved soup season! Certainly, no noses… or immune systems… turned up to that.

And! A surprise late season rhubarb crop had me straight up giddy!!

If life couldn’t be anymore rambunctious and sweet there’s always the sea of sweet ‘potatuh’ vines taking over a quarter of the garden in shiny green and purple glory as well as beautiful sightings while walking around the lake.

One can only sideline a bustle for so long before it gets overly antsy, so I wish you the very best as your Sunday unfolds into however a sweet or rambunctious week God deigns it to be.
And don’t forget to find all the beauty in all the ordinary.
